Vernon Frederick Charles Redlich, 86, of Osceola, Wisconsin, passed away early the morning of May 13, 2023, at his home in Osceola.

Vernon was born on Dec. 26, 1936, to Fred W. and Gertrude (Getschel) Redlich at Nye, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russel; and sisters, Adline Olson, Elaine Elfstrom and Irma Rom.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beatrice; sister, Helen Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Vern was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran church. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1955. After graduation, Vern enlisted in the United States Army on Aug. 10, 1955, serving as a medic and was honorably discharged on July 23, 1958. He then began his career at 3M, retiring after 34 years of service. On May 5, 1973, Vern was united in marriage to Beatrice Peterson at the Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church in Lewis, Wisconsin.

Vern was active in the local politics, serving one term on the Polk County Board and three terms as chairman of the town of Osceola. He was conservative to the end.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery, East Farmington, Wisconsin. Condolences may be expressed online at grandstrandfh.com.
