Thelma Lea (Hansen) Vanderwerf, 90, of Dresser, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023, at Osceola Christian Community Home. Thelma was born July 21, 1932, in Amery, Wisconsin, to Harvey and Lelia Hansen.
Thelma married Duane Vanderwerf on July 3, 1956, in Pine City, Minnesota. They were blessed with two children, Mark and Linda.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jerry and Vern; and sister, Zoe.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Duane; daughter, Linda Vanderwerf (Ed Thoma); son, Mark (Wendy) Vanderwerf; grandchildren, Justin Vanderwerf and Jordyn (Chuck) Darnell; bonus grandchildren, Ashlee (Chris) Kleveland, Tyler Nelson and Kaitlyn Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Thelma’s life will be held Friday, June 2, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service, at Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser. A lunch will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Peace Lutheran Church. Arrangements were made by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola, Wisconsin. Condolences may be expressed online at grandstrandfh.com.
