CENTURIA – The Burnett Electric Cooperative and the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association have an exciting opportunity for all local third-graders, who are invited to submit an original poster that supports electrical safety.
“As your local provider of safe, reliable electricity, Polk-Burnett Electric Cooperative is sponsoring a youth poster contest to promote electrical safety in recognition of National Electrical Safety Month in May,” said Joan O’Fallon, Polk-Burnett’s communications director. “We remind everyone to be safe around electricity and electrical equipment at home and school.”
All who enter will have a chance to win local and state-level prizes.
Three local winners will each receive a $25 gift card from WECA and Polk-Burnett. The top three local posters will be submitted to the state contest for a chance to win state-level prizes.
The top three prizes in the state contest are a Chromebook for first place, a $100 gift card for second place and a $75 gift card for third place.
Winning posters will be shared by the co-ops to help educate about electrical safety.
