Steven Leslie Christensen, age 75, a resident of Danbury, Wisconsin, passed away on Dec. 28, 2023, at home with his loved ones by his side.
Steven was born on Feb. 28, 1948, in Frederic, Wisconsin, to parents Leslie Christensen and Margie (Ludwig).
After graduating from high school Steven was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country from 1967 to 1969 when he was honorably discharged.
Steven worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail handler.
Steven married Star McKenzie on Nov. 15, 1969, in Milltown, Wisconsin.
In his free time Steven enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Christensen and Margie Ludwig; stepfather, Leo Ludwig; father-in-law, Al McKenzie; mother-in-law, Irma Hill; brother-in-law, Allen Jenssen; niece, Christy Tackit; and nephew, Andy McKenzie.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Star; beloved dog, Packer; children, Laura (Bob) Christensen and Todd (Dawn) Christensen; grandchildren, Brian, Amanda and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Carrie Ann; stepmother, Trixie Christensen; sister, Carol Jenssen; brother-in-law, Arlo (Connie) McKenzie; sisters-in-law, Ranee Nielsen, Faye (John) Riedner and Judy (Jerry) Rice; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service for Steven will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at 2 p.m., with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin, with military honors to follow. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the service at the Gandy Dancer Saloon, 7576 County Road U, Danbury. Online condolences can be made at swedberg-taylor.com.
