MILLTOWN – In 2022, the South Milltown 4-H Club started a Valentine’s Day project based on the idea of a young member, Hunter Olson. Hunter wanted to do something on Valentine’s Day for the postal workers, police and others that work for the community. The 4-H club members thought this was a great idea.
The 4-H members sat down and decided who they wanted to make sure got a valentine. They gave some of them a small notepad, pen and a piece of candy. Since the club is located between Balsam Lake, Centuria and Milltown, plus a member lives in Luck, all of these communities would benefit from their Valentine’s Day project.
In Balsam Lake, valentines were distributed to the workers at the post office, village hall, village maintenance, library, police department, fire department, the sheriff’s office and the jail employees. In Centuria, valentines were distributed to the post office, village hall, village maintenance, library and the fire department. In Milltown, valentines were distributed to the post office, village hall, village maintenance, library, police department and fire department. In Luck, valentines were distributed to the post office and police department.
Over 200 valentines were delivered with ideas for more in 2024.
