SCUUF presents jazz performance next weekend

TAYLORS FALLS, Minn. – St. Croix Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, based in St. Croix Falls, will bring popular St. Paul jazz pianist and singer Larry McDonough and saxophonist and poet Richard Terrill to the area for a concert at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Taylors Falls Community Center, located at 312 W. Government St., Taylors Falls, Minnesota. All are welcome to the attend the free event. Coffee and refreshments will be served.

McDonough and Terrill have been presenting programs for Unitarian Universalist congregations for nearly 20 years. Their rich music and poetry are also well known to jazz enthusiasts in the region and throughout the St. Croix Valley.

At SCUUF’s Feb. 26 event, McDonough and Terrill will perform the music of visionary jazz pianist Bill Evans and discuss Evans’ life and contributions to jazz. Evans is credited with reinventing the jazz piano trio as well as recording with trumpeter Miles Davis, “Kind of Blue,” the most popular album in the history of jazz.
