Ronald Leo True, 84, of Cushing, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Siren, Wisconsin, at the home of his son, Greg True, who selflessly cared for him the last year of his life and held his hand in comfort and love in his final moments.
Ron was born to Wilbur and Hulda True in Scandia, Minnesota, on Oct. 6, 1941. Ron was a graduate of Forest Lake High School and after joined the Army, where he was stationed in turbulent Germany, serving with strength and pride.
Ron was married on Nov. 23, 1963, to Sonja Marie Bohman. It was love at first sight, a fairy-tale kind of love, and they were blessed with three children who love them dearly.
Ron was an honored lifetime employee of Plastic Products Company in Lindstrom, Minnesota, where he took on many career titles, always with a drive to succeed. He was a respected supervisor and esteemed colleague.
Ron lived his life with integrity; he was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it was with wisdom and love. To live a lifetime and only have kind words said about the person you are, from everyone you knew, is a difficult task, but it is one he accomplished.
Ron was the hardest worker we knew and a lifetime learner. He could do anything he put his mind to, from remodeling our family home, rebuilding small and large engines, starting a hobby farm and everything in between. One of his greatest joys and strengths was teaching others with a calm and patient kindness.
He loved music, singing and dancing (like Elvis, of course!), he always had music playing and would grab Sonja or his grandkids for an impromptu twirl around the kitchen table. He would go without, but spoil those around him. He would give you the shirt off his back, never asking for anything in return. He was one of a kind.
Ron will be forever missed by his children, Greg True (Jamie), Duane True (Brenda) and Jolene Halek (Jeremy); grandchildren, Latecia True, Emily True, Logan True and Leighton Halek; great-grandchildren, Weston and Kinsley Ninke; sister, Lu Faanes; sister-in-law, Pat Bohman; and many more family and friends.
Ron was greeted in heaven by his sweetheart of 62 years, Sonja; parents, Wilbur and Hulda; father- and mother-in-law, Walter and Alice Bohman; sisters, Harriet and Marge; and brothers-in-law, Charles, Shorty, Kip and Herman.
A celebration of Ron’s life and his joyful reunion with Sonja and our Savior will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola, Wisconsin. Arrangements are with the Grandstrand Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at grandstrandfh.com.
