OSCEOLA – With all the negative news that seems to happen across the country, and even sometimes in our neck of the woods, it’s nice to print some plain ol’ “good news” once in a while here in the newspaper. And that is what we are going to do. Lisa Martin from Osceola reached out with a lot of the same feelings and decided to go out and do some “random acts of kindness” around her community. For no real reason at all besides to make people happy. She took it to the extreme, too … hitting up more than 40 folks around the village making them smile with flower, candy, words of kindness, signed poems, and yes – even the classic whoopie cushion. Martin says one of her best experiences of the day was meeting a man named Jim who was at the checkout line at Dick’s Market. He said he didn’t need anything, except a hug. Mission accomplished, Lisa! We here at the Inter-County Leader love this and definitely could see this “random acts of kindness” thing catching on. Who’s next to do something fun like this?
