Pamela “Pammie” Teig, 63, passed away April 5, 2024. She was born in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, to Donald and Judith Erickson on Dec. 22, 1960. She was raised in Mounds View. Her parents divorced when she was 3 or 4, her mom then met Wayne O’Loughlin and they moved to various towns in Wisconsin. They ended up in Milltown, Wisconsin, where Pammie graduated from Unity High School in 1979.
After graduation, Pam started at Kroy Industries in 1983 or 1984. She worked there for several years before Kroy moved operations out of state. She then decided to go to school at WITC-Northwoods for accounting. She was only three credits shy of her accounting degree. After that she worked various jobs. In 2005 she applied at Community Living Options as direct care staff member for group homes. She worked for CLO until 2018, where she started losing her memory and couldn’t work anymore. We sold our house together and moved to Turtle Lake, Wisconsin.
As her dementia progressed it became harder for me to take care of her. With help from ADRC of Barron County, we got Pammie into Amery Memory Care in February or 2021. She had her ups and downs there but ended up thriving. She had structure and organization. I would try to visit as much as I could. In her time there, I noticed a variable change in her demeanor. Toward the end of her life, I became a stranger to her. She did know our Lab, Champ, who she cherished.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Erickson and Judith O'Loughlin; and her grandmother, Sally Mae Pederson.
Pam is survived by her husband, Kellen; stepson, Blair (Carrie) Teig; grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail; mother-in-law, MaryLou Koosman; sisters-in-law, Katherine (Anthony) Giuffre and Karen Pagenkops-Teig; nieces and nephews, Joseph and Lauren Giuffre, Megan Flint and her family, Kelsey Teig, Devin Teig and Justin Pagenkops-Teig; and many other relatives, friends and former co-workers.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola, Wisconsin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at a later date. Condolences may be expressed online at grandstrandfh.com.
