Merwin Harold Moen, 87, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, formerly of Comstock, Wisconsin, died Sept. 1, 2024. He was born Dec. 15, 1936, in Cumberland, Wisconsin, to Clarence and Myrtle (Renhowe) Moen. He was the first of four children and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1954. Merwin was married at the Pipe Lake Church on July 27, 1957, to Mary Danniger, and together they shared 50 years.
Merwin spent his career working in the school system at a number of schools as a teacher and later as a superintendent.
He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (J.D.) Gaudette of Centuria; daughter-in-law, Tracy Moen; grandchildren, Taylor Ann Moen and Ashley (Noah) Fedje; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Moen; son, James Moen; sister, Clarice Linnell; brothers, Clarence “Buzz” and Richard Moen; and grandson, Christopher Connolly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, at Christ Lutheran Church, Pipe Lake, Wisconsin, with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
