Mary Ann (Martin) Johnson, 79, passed away on April 27, 2023. She was born on March 8, 1944, in Frederic, Wisconsin, to Neil and Ruby (Tomke) Martin. She was raised in Bone Lake Township. Mary Ann attended Lafollette Grade School in Bone Lake and Luck High School in Luck, Wisconsin, graduating in 1962. After two years of college at Presentation Junior College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to work at the University of Minnesota.
On Sept. 9, 1967, she married Fred E. Johnson in Frederic. They lived in Minneapolis. Fred’s job at NCR took them to Houston, Beaumont and San Antonio, Texas, and then on to Davenport, Iowa, and Minot, North Dakota, in 1978.
When their two boys started school, Mary Ann began working at Artistry Hairstyles as a bookkeeper, which remained her career for 22 years. Fred retired in 2000 and Mary Ann in 2004. In 2011 Fred and Mary Ann moved to Osceola, Wisconsin. Mary Ann moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in March 2021.
Mary Ann enjoyed her home, friends, family and traveling with Fred. She also learned how to crochet and made many items for her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Neil (Jessica) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Paul (Jaime) of Champlin, Minnesota; her grandsons, Carson, Anthony, and Ashton; her brothers, Bob (Karen) Martin of Arizona, and Tim (Linda) Martin of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Fred Johnson; her dad and mom; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
