Malford “Collin” Eid, 82, of Arden Hills, Minnesota, died on Feb. 16, 2026, after battling lung cancer. He was born on July 18, 1943, to Malford and Rosemarie Eid in Springfield, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Erin (Ron), Ethan (Michelle), and Evan (Janelle); his six grandchildren, Sophia, Eric, Sage, Evander, Carter, and Cameron; and siblings, Karen, Susan, Barry, and Robert. His first child, Eric, died in a tragic car accident in 1983.
Collin’s early years were spent in Duluth, Minnesota. While in high school, he enjoyed playing tuba, running cross country, and ski jumping. At age 18 he joined the National Guard as a cook and saved for college tuition. He earned two degrees from the University of Minnesota: a BS in English education and a Master’s in public health. During his career, he taught English and held several positions in health care before starting his own business, Home Business Associates. He felt blessed that he was able to help his clients for twenty-four years with Medicare and other health insurance needs.
In 1987 the family purchased a cabin in Siren, Wisconsin, where the family spent many happy vacations. His love of being active and for sports, especially the Minnesota Gophers, continued throughout his life.
Collin’s presence could fill a room along with his infectious laughter. He loved being able to volunteer and help wherever it was needed. He will be missed by many.
Arrangements will be determined at later date.
