LUCK- What started as a program for first- and second-graders expanded this year to include pre-K and kindergarten in the hope of sparking interest and creating fun for students in the Luck Elementary School.
The Little Dribblers program was started by a teacher with coaching experience who has since moved on to the Cumberland area. It was continued into its second year by Karin Hanson, who is the recreation director, and Carly Hanson, a volunteer who offered to teach the class. There were two hourlong classes, one for pre-K through kindergarten and another for first through second grades. The original intent was to get the students going on the basics and fundamentals of basketball and potentially get them excited about becoming future Luck Cardinals basketball players.
Energy and enthusiasm were high as the children enjoyed the drills and activities that were being taught, and students also received Luck T-shirts for participating. Many other parent and teacher volunteers were also present to help the event run smoothly.
