Water Aerobics: Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:30-9:30 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30-9:30 a.m. or 9:30-10:30 a.m.; instructors: Kathleen Babcock and Janet Erickson, $48/6 weeks, at Luck Country Inn. All skill levels are welcome; the buoyancy allows for low impact on your body. Ongoing 6-week classes. Give one class a try for $5! Contact community ed for start dates.
Painting with VAC: Mondays, Feb. 20 and 27, March 6 and 20, April 3, 5:30-7 p.m.; instructor: James Springsteen and VAC students; $20 per class or $35 for two family members; at the school. Visual Arts Classic is a large art challenge that takes place regionally. VAC students are judged and have a chance to go to state competition. During these classes, VAC students will demonstrate each project with easy-to-follow steps. Paintings will be done on 11"x14" canvases. Register for 4 or more classes = $15/class! A portion of the proceeds will go to the VAC students for travel costs. Examples of class paintings can be found on the website.
Poetry for Those Who "Don't Get It" (and welcome for those who do!): Wednesdays, March 1-22, and April 5-26, 1-2:30 p.m.; Instructor: Patricia MacDonald, $20/4 weeks, Ruby’s Retreat Center. Poetry is informative, joyful, enlightening, and can even be life changing! Join a group of lifetime learners for an opportunity to revisit a subject you disliked, or perhaps didn’t understand. Grasp the messages of today's poets, as well as those of longtime fame. Try one class for free!
Conversational Spanish: Thursdays, Feb. 2-March 30 (no class March 16); 6-7 p.m.; instructor: Señora Torrie Gaffney; $37/person or $65/couple; at the school. A basic understanding of Spanish is helpful, but not required. Each class will have time for research/learning specific vocabulary/grammar structures, and time spent in conversation.
Adult/Child/Infant CPR & AED Training: Monday, Feb. 20, 6-8 p.m.; instructor: Deb Gutzman; $42, at the school. This CPR class is very easy to learn and to remember! Learn how to care for an unresponsive person and get certified for two years in Basic Adult/Child & Infant CPR and AED, with unlimited practice opportunities during your certification period and unlimited digital access to the workbook materials. This class does not have a written test.
Yoga Sculpt: Wednesdays, March 1-29 (no class March 15), 6-7 p.m.; instructor: Megan Hacker; $35/4 weeks ($9 per class for drop-in); at school or online. A music-driven, total-body cardio and strength workout that combines yoga postures and free weights. No yoga experience needed. For online attendees, a Zoom link will be sent after registration is complete (live or recorded option).
Dance Fitness: Thursdays, March 2-23, 7-7:45 p.m.; instructor: Annaleise Wright; $40/4 weeks, Limitless Dance Studios. Dance fitness is a workout that is actually fun! It's good for your heart, makes you stronger, and can help with balance and coordination. Perfect for both beginners and regulars, requires no previous dance experience!
Stamp-a-Stack: Thursday, March 2, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; instructor: Dawn Richard; $22, at the school. All materials and a sample of each card will be provided - all you need to do is stamp and assemble them! Make three birthday, one thank-you, and one thinking of you card.
Spring Cookie Decorating: Wednesday, March 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; instructors: Reanna from Sweet Cheeks and Taylor from Taylor Made Treats, $35, at the school. Each person will receive eight sugar cookies to decorate with four different custom designs. All icing and supplies will be provided and even a box to take your cookie creations home with you!
Wood Sign Making: Thursday, April 20, 6-8 p.m.; instructor: Stacia Swiontek; $65/welcome sign or $60/round sign; at the school. Stacia with Wine & Wood leads this fun and laid-back wooden sign-making class! Designs include a tall "Welcome" or "Home" sign or a round sign - Welcome, Hello, or a last name. Choose your design at registration.
