Linda Diane Hornung, 74, a resident of Siren, Wisconsin, passed away on Jan. 27, 2024, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
Linda was born on Jan. 22, 1950, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to parents Oliver and Amanda (Helgeson) Lanning.
Linda was 3 years old when her mother died. Linda was raised by her father until she joined Sonja and Sharon in Maryland. She gave birth to her beloved son, Troy, who was Linda’s pride and joy. She then moved to Wisconsin in 1973 to be near her sister, Sonja. Linda worked as bartender in several bars in Siren and Frederic where she met and married the love of her life, George Hornung. They were married for 40 years. Linda enjoyed various crafting hobbies. She was very kind and giving to her family and friends. Linda will be very missed by many.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, George; parents; sister, Carole Taylor; and nephew, Davin Tyler.
She is survived by her beloved son, Troy Lanning; granddaughter, Bailey Walter; sisters, Sonja Tyler and Sharon (Terry) Bartlett; nephew, Jeffrey Tyler; along with many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2024.
