Lamar Johnson was born on Nov. 27, 1962, and passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born in Frederic, Wisconsin, son of Erwin Johnson and Opal (Loberg) Johnson.

In 1982, he relocated to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and attended Chippewa Valley Technical College where he graduated with an associate’s degree in diesel mechanics. In 1986, he moved to Cadott, Wisconsin, and built both a career and a life for his family. While raising his four children, he worked as a diesel mechanic before transitioning into a career as a recovery specialist for organ and tissue donation, helping to provide hope and healing to countless individuals and families.

He lived a life filled with adventure and appreciation for the outdoors. He found great joy in hunting and fishing, spending countless hours in the woods and on the water creating memories with family. He also loved traveling and exploring new places, but his greatest happiness was always found in the company of those he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin Johnson, and his two brothers, Kimel Johnson and Todd Johnson.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Opal Johnson; former wife, Sandra; his daughter, Brittany Gregoire (Brett); his three sons, Jared Johnson (Laura), Blake Johnson (Alexandra), and Mitchell Johnson (Abby); and grandchildren, Annica, Asher, Oakley, Joshua, Otto, and Xander. He also leaves behind extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss him.
