Knitting basics and techniques taught via community education through a three-week series

FREDERIC- Have you ever wondered how to create your own items using yarn? On Monday, Feb. 13, Konnie Didlo taught a class on how to use various types of fibers and different sizes and consistencies. Attendees were able to come knowing nothing and learn to knit or refresh their already existing knitting skills. Yarn and needles were provided for beginners, and more advanced knitters were encouraged to bring supplies and patterns if they desired to do so. Those newer to the craft were taught to knit and purl, cast on and bind off, read patterns and learn basic knitting techniques. Those more adept at knitting were able to receive help with individual projects. How-to-knit books were also available for purchase at the class. Registration for this class is closed, but if you are interested in continuing your own education, you can learn about other offerings at the Frederic Community Education website at fredericsd.org/community/community-education.cfm or go to their Facebook page at facebook.com/fredericcommunityeducation.
