Kathleen (Kathy) Loretta Niles (née Alger), age 62, of Webster, Wisconsin, passed away on Aug. 19, 2024. Born on Dec. 12, 1961, in Portage, Wisconsin, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Kathy's educational journey began in the schools of Gay Mills, Ashland, and Frederic, Wisconsin, culminating in her graduation from Frederic High School. She furthered her education at WITI Superior, where she studied accounting and bookkeeping. Kathy started working at North States in 1989, dedicating over three decades to the company before retiring in May 2021.
In the summer of 1981, Kathy met Marty Niles, and the two were joined in marriage on June 25, 1983. The couple had two children, Jessica in 1983 and Marty Jay in 1985. Her dedication to her family was endless, she was there every step of the way at her children’s and grandchildren's life events.
Kathy was a passionate sports fan, often found cheering from the stands at various sporting events, or from the comfort of her own couch. Her hobbies also included embroidery and quilting, activities that not only brought her joy but also allowed her to share her creations with loved ones.
Kathy's life was marked by her unwavering support for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Marty Niles; daughter, Jessica (Rob) Gongoll; grandchildren, Waylon, Loretta and Hank Gongoll; father, Richard (Bonnie) Alger; sister, Roberta (Kyle) Miller; brother, Paul (Shelia) Alger; parents-in-law, Darwin and Marilyn Niles; brothers-in-law, Bryan (Karen) Niles, Jeff (Deb) Niles, Dave (Tricia) Lawler, Dan Niles and Russ Niles; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who were cherished like family. Kathy was preceded in death by her son, Marty Niles II; mother, Nancy Alger; and parents-in-law, Darold and Sharon Niles.
A memorial to celebrate Kathy's life will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Frederic, Wisconsin on Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. Her legacy of love, dedication, and support will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
