James J. Donnelly, 98, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Sept. 23, 2023.
He is survived by his loving bride of 71 years, Marilyn. He will be deeply missed by his children, Mark, Micky (Frank) Palewicz, Kathleen, Maureen and Jimmy (Deb); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Jim was known for his quick wit, scary stories, Irish blarney and mandatory Sunday dinners. Jim proudly served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Wisconsin.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 9, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, 507 W. Main St. Visitation is at 10 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. He will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
