Gerald (Jerry) Adrian Ulick, 69, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at SSM Health, Monroe, Wisconsin.
Originally from Lewis, Jerry resided in Portland, Oregon for the past 30 years. When he was diagnosed with dementia, he and his family decided it would be best for him to return to Wisconsin, to be near his sister, Linda. Sadly, Jerry's time back in Wisconsin was just shy of a year.
Jerry grew up on his family's farm outside of Lewis, where he helped his parents, Mary Ann and Adrian Ulick. He was a graduate of Frederic High School. His friendly and outgoing personality made him a perfect fit for his first job, driving a school bus for Frederic. Later, he got a job hauling milk for Burnett Dairy, and eventually bought his own semi-truck with pride to drive OTR. Upon relocating to Portland, with his wife Carol, Jerry continued his passion for driving and spent over 20 years serving as Operations Manager for Savage Trucking. His brother Arlen, and Arlen's wife Jackie, soon also moved to Portland. Jerry cherished his time in Oregon enjoying the landscapes, still following the Packers, and pursuing his hobby of hunting with Arlen and his stepson, Dale Blake.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Linda (Ulick) Carolan; nephew, Duane Carolan; niece, Jenice Carolan (Chris Hermanson); and great nieces and nephew, Katelin, Elsie and Milo Hermanson.
Additionally, he is survived by his aunts and uncles, Emma Jean (Bob) Hinrichs, Billie (Kenny) Nelson, Retta (Harold) Nelson, Sharon and Leo Themmes, Dale (Lila) Nelson, and Leslie and Nikki Nelson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Mary Ann (Nelson) Ulick; his first wife, Carol (Blake) Ulick; second wife, Cristine (Watson) Ulick; a brother, Arlen; and sister-in-law, Jackie (DeMar) Ulick; a brother-in-law, Roger Carolan; aunts and uncles, Vernon and Margaret Ulick, Ina Mae and Donald Anderson, Darlene and Kenny Bellefeuille, Lois Faye Nelson, Ida Jane Nelson, Gerald Nelson, Betty Lou and Charlie Magnuson, Geraldine and Guy McKenzie, Lila Nelson, Byron “Pete” and Ann Nelson, Kenny Nelson, Harold Nelson and Bob Hinrichs.
The family expresses their gratitude to Albany Oaks Assisted Living for the compassionate care they provided to Jerry. The employees at Albany Oaks created a true home for Jerry, and their dedication is deeply appreciated.
In memory of Jerry, may his legacy of hard work and love for family, live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be very missed by all who knew him. As per Jerry's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
