Gary Dale Carlson, 78, of Mounds View, Minnesota, passed from this life on Sept. 9, 2023. Gary was born to Victor and Goldie Carlson of Danbury, Wisconsin, on March 27, 1945. He attended Aspen and Carpenter elementary schools and graduated from Webster High School in 1963. Gary grew up on the family farm and enjoyed all the various aspects of farm life as a young man. He graduated from Eau Claire Technical College and was employed in the medical electronics field for his entire working life. Gary loved nature and animals, and experienced many outdoor adventures growing up. He also enjoyed wildlife photography as a hobby and won the Best Nature Calendar Award Contest for Brooklyn Center one year. Gary was a deeply devoted Christian his entire life. He was active in the Stephen and Prison ministries, as well as singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday school, and being Sunday school superintendent. He and wife Cindy enjoyed being volunteer telephone counselors for the Billy Graham Association one year. Gary also dearly loved riding his mountain bike, especially discovering and exploring new trails near where he lived.
He was preceded in death by parents Victor and Goldie of Danbury; and sister Virginia Bowles of Laporte, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Mounds View; daughter, Emily of Arden Hills; and brother, Ron (Joleen) of Mound, Minnesota. Also surviving him are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Graveside services were held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Danbury. A Celebration of Life/memorial service will be held at Gary’s home church, Living Springs, in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, at a later date.
