Donna Mae Pedersen, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, with her family by her side, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, grace and strength. She was born on September 15, 1930, in Luck, Wisconsin, to Sophie and Sigvald Petersen.
She grew up alongside her two sisters, Norma and Marjorie, and attended Milltown schools for all 12 years of her education. Her early years shaped the practical, grounded outlook she carried throughout her life.
In 1950 she married Edwin S. Pedersen, and lived in Frederic, Wisconsin. Together they created a home centered on family and community, raising four children, Katherine, Ann, David, and Paul. She was a devoted and loving mother who put her family first, providing steady support, kindness, and care.
In 1981 Donna and Edwin moved to Luck where they enjoyed being close to their family, including ten grandchildren and eventually eight great-grandchildren. Donna's house was located across the street from the school where many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended. She remained a constant and comforting presence as they came and went.
Throughout her life, Donna was deeply community-minded. She was actively involved in local organizations, including Luck Community Education and West Denmark Church. Although not prone to looking for favor, limelight, or an audience, she was a quiet force behind the scenes of goodness and beauty—walking path at school, flowers on every table for every occasion, donation of quilts for causes. She saw a need and helped make it happen. She believed in giving back and quietly made a lasting impact on everyone around her.
She will be remembered as being a realist with a strong sense of purpose and common sense, a generous spirit, and showing a deep love for her family and community. She found joy in dancing, cross-country skiing, road trips, Lake Superior, and gardening. She baked bread into her 90s that filled the house with a warm and cozy aroma, and created quilting pieces that will continue to warm and comfort her loved ones for years to come. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and husband. She is survived by Katherine (Robb Wilson), Ann (Dennis Fawver), David (Heidi), Paul (Karen), ten
grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at West Denmark Lutheran Church in Luck at 10:30 a.m., followed by a light lunch at the West Denmark Parish Hall.
Donna’s family kindly invites you to honor her memory, if you wish, by making a donation to a cause close to your heart in lieu of flowers.
