Donald L. (Shorty) Beaulieu, of Milltown, Wisconsin, died Nov. 12, 2025, at the age of 93.
He was born in Hawkins, Wisconsin, on March 11, 1932, at the family home, to Monroe and Laura Beaulieu. Shorty volunteered to join the United States Army in 1952, he was assigned to the 8th Army. He spent one year in Korea with the Commonwealth Division, transferred to Japan, then honorably discharged in 1954. Shorty married Phyllis L. Larsen on July 21, 1957. Shorty and Phyllis raised two children, David and Susan in Milltown. He was a member of the Milltown VFW and American Legion. Shorty was a member of Milltown Lutheran Church/Joy Lutheran Church. He was a devoted board member for 30 years of the Milltown Cemetery. Shorty retired from the Polk County Highway Department.
Shorty was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife. He is survived by David Beaulieu and Susan (Jerome) Katelhut; grandchildren, Crystal, John (Ashley), Matthew (Nicole), and Cathryn (Logan); great-grandchildren, Tucker, Connor, Raelynn, Riley, Jordan, Paislee, Gracelyn, Aurora, and Ivy.
A celebration of Shorty’s life will be on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at Joy Lutheran Church in Centuria, Wisconsin, at 11 a.m., visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
