Clifford Lewis Nesseth age 84, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his home in St. Croix Falls.
Clifford was born on May 4, 1942, in Osceola, Wisconsin, to Clifford and Viola (Schmidt) Nesseth. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Osceola High School in 1960.
As Clifford was walking on a Dresser street, a man came out and asked him if he needed a job. He said yes and began his 54 years of working in the plastic injection industry. Over the years, he held many positions and many locations, several of which he planned from the ground up. During his early time at St. Croix Plastics, he was drafted into the Army, and during this time, he became a parachutist and a chemical specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
During his time on leave, he met a girl, where else, at the plastic plant. The relationship went well and the next year Cliff married Marlys Harlander on Oct. 8, 1966. They bought a small house in St. Croix Falls and began their life together. The best part of that life was born on April 20, 1970, their son, Clinton Dennis.
As some would say, you can’t write a story about Cliff without hunting and fishing. He didn’t care where, when or who it was fishing with, unless it was with his wife, who wasn’t too fond of fishing. As he got older, it was more about tranquility and sunsets over catching any fish. Hunting was another case. That was a special father/son event that they both treasured together. Cliff will be missed by many.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Marlys; son, Clinton (Nikole); grandsons, Cole and Mason (Raelynn); brother-in-law, Dennis Harlander; nephews, Dennis and Jon (Yvette); niece, Amy (Dave) Hadsall; and special nephew, Christian (Michelle) Boumeester.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Viola; parents-in law, Millard and Marion Harlander; and cousin, John (Katie) Nelson.
Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home, Osceola, with a visitation starting at 1 p.m. Arrangements are with the Grandstrand Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed online at grandstrandfh.com.
