BALSAM LAKE – The WIAA postseason brackets for boys basketball are complete and multiple area teams host first-round home games next week, including Unity.
By virtue of starting the season with a 21-game win streak and winning the Lakeland West, the Eagles earned a Division 4 first-round bye and open play at home on March 3 against the winner of the Webster-Shell Lake matchup on Tuesday.
Webster drew a third matchup with Shell Lake to start the playoffs at home. The Tigers won both previous matchups with Shell Lake this season, including a 67-49 win on Jan. 20.
Grantsburg also has a first-round home game on Tuesday, against Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, which lost four of its first five games this month.
Division 3
St. Croix Falls concludes the regular season against Barron on Thursday, then starts postseason play against the same team at home on Tuesday.
The Saints defeated Barron 42-33 in their first matchup this season, on Jan. 20, allowing just nine first-half points.
Division 5
Siren entered the week with a four-game win streak and drew a first-round home game against Lac Courte Oreilles on Tuesday.
