Barbara Lynn Murphy, age 77, passed away on Sept. 3, 2026.

Born on Oct. 22, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, to the late David and Eleanor Mitchell, Barbara lived a life dedicated to serving others. As a compassionate home health nurse, she turned her natural desire to help others into a lifelong calling, bringing comfort, dignity, and kindness to countless patients and families.

A proud and good citizen of the Siren, Wisconsin community, Barbara lived and raised her family there for over 57 years. She was an active, faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She loved country music, planting flowers and gardening, and she enjoyed crafting handmade jewelry, playing Bingo, and decorating her home for Christmas.

She possessed a deep love for her pets—especially her beloved dog, Mickey—and she cherished every moment spent in the company of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Eleanor Mitchell; her beloved husband, Michael Murphy; their son, Tony Murphy; and her brother, Jim Mitchell.

Barbara’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Lynn Murphy and Tim (Therese) Murphy; her grandchildren, Kanya Robinson (Mark) and Izaiah Murphy; her great-grandchildren, Adeline, Delilah, and Luke; her sisters-in-law, Mary Mitchell and Pat Sandgren; her nephews, Paul Mitchell, Ryan Sandgren (Marci), Cory Sandgren, and Dominick Sandgren (Brittany); as well as her extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Frederic, Wisconsin. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
