Alice Ferol Riley Kabeary, age 101, of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, died April 17, 2026, at her home with her family surrounding her.
Alice was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Amanda Karina Aronson and John Walter Riley. Alice was a 1943 graduate of Grantsburg High School and a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, drawing, and painting scenery of cabins and woods. Alice worked in Grantsburg Clinic for Dr. Hartzell for many years.
Alice is survived by her children, Jean Psyhos of Grantsburg, David (Jane) Psyhos of Edina, Minnesota, Kitty Carlos, Connie (Jim) Brower, and Dan (Tina) Kabeary; grandchildren, Nicholas (Maggie) Psyhos, Andrew (Lexie) Psyhos, Chris (Katie) Psyhos, Peter (Stephanie) Psyhos, and Anthony (Lindsey) Psyhos. She is also survived by other grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Kabeary, and stepson, Fred Kabeary.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to noon, at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at noon. Alice will be laid to rest in Ansgarius Cemetery in Alpha, Wisconsin. Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Grantsburg is serving the family.
