Steven Paul Williams, 63, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025.
Steve was born on May 24, 1961, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to parents, Paul and Patricia Williams. He moved to Balsam Lake when he was 17 years old and attended Unity High School. While in high school, he met the love of his life, Laura (Reed) Williams, his wife of 41 years. Steve served in the United States Marine Corps and the Army National Guard. Steve was well-known by all and a pillar of the Balsam Lake community. He led and planned community events through the chamber of commerce and was an active member of the Balsam Lake American Legion Post 278. He spent his career owning and operating Lakeview Park alongside his wife Laura. Steve was a big car guy and always had a handful of project cars that never really stopped being a project car. Steve loved summer the most and enjoyed spending days on the boat with Laura, family, and friends. Steve was known around town as “Super Steve” because of his willingness to help out in any way possible. Steve was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren and they loved seeing their “papa”. He will be forever loved and cherished.
Steve is survived by his wife, Laura; his children, Josh(Britt), Cory(Tracy) and Erin(Tyler); his grandchildren, Addison, Jet, Etta, Eleanor, Croix and Calla; his brother, Dave (Cathy); his sisters, Sue (Rich) and Kathy (Mark); and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mark; and his nephew, Scott. A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake followed by military honors. Pastor Steve Rice from Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, Centuria, Wisconsin, will conduct the service.
There will be a visitation at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church on Friday, Feb. 21, from 4 – 7 p.m., and again one hour before the service on Saturday.
Please join the family for lunch in the fellowship hall following the service.
Steve will be laid to rest at the Balsam Lake Cemetery at a later date.
In place of flowers, please make donations to the American Legion Post 278.
