Sherry Mckinney, age 68, of Frederic, Wisconsin, died Thursday April 10, 2025, at Regions Hospital with family and loved ones by her side.
Sherry was born Oct. 22, 1956, to Richard and Doris Swager in St Paul, Minnesota. She grew up in Centuria, Wisconsin with her parents and five siblings. She graduated from Unity High School in 1974.
She married David M. McKinney on April 13, 1985, and began their life together. In 1987 they moved to the McKinney farm where they spent the next 38 years! Sherry worked at Kroy in Osceola, Wisconsin from around 1980 through 1998. She made so many memories with her co-workers and enjoyed every minute of her job. She would share stories with anyone who would listen. She worked a few different factory jobs throughout her life until she decided to call it quits and spend more time with her kids and grandkids.
Sherry enjoyed many things in life including watching all things sports, bear hunting, 4-H events, the Polk County Fair, spending time with family and friends and much more. In her final days, she spent her time with her family and always had a western or softball game on the TV.
Sherry is survived by her husband, David McKinney; her daughters, Amanda (Joe) Ullrich of Cumberland, Wisconsin and Terri (Jared) Anderson of Luck, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Amber and James Ullrich, and Olivia and Aubree Anderson; her siblings, Pat (Roger) Neumann, John (Mary) Swager, Dick (Kim) Swager, Mark Swager, and Lynn (Bill) Johnson; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews; along with many other family and friends.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Doris Swager; her father- and mother-in-law, Joseph and Joyce McKinney; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Edquist and Cyrena McKinney; and brother-in-law, Guy Foltz; along with other loved ones.
Sherry was a kindhearted, simple gal who talked to everyone she met and made many memories throughout the years.
There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Sherry on May 3, from 2-6 p.m., at Curt and Lorraine Swansons home. 586 340th Ave. Frederic, Wisconsin, 54837 (Clam Falls area). Sherry loved potlucks, so feel free to bring a dish to pass that you feel she would have loved to share with her family and friends.
