Mark Steven Palmberg was born May 25, 1950, in Amery, Wisconsin, to Robert and Helen (Lundmark) Palmberg. Mark passed away peacefully with his sister Terri by his side on Aug. 8, 2025, in Lino Lakes Assisted Living Facility, having lived with cerebral palsy for 75 years.
He attended Milltown Elementary School through first grade, when he transferred to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to complete high school. During this time, he returned to Milltown every weekend and was an avid attender of Unity sporting events and Tri~Town Badgers baseball. Mark met his life partner, Carol Cohrs, and together they attended the Courage Center in Golden Valley, Minnesota, where they were trained in independent living skills. Mark served as their switchboard operator from 1983 to 1986. In 1990, he graduated with an associate in arts degree from Normandale Community College. Mark remained a dedicated sports supporter of Minnesota pro teams and Wisconsin Badgers until his passing. He was confirmed in the Milltown Lutheran Church and maintained his faith and belief in the Lord.
Mark is survived by his sister, Terri Palmberg; cousins, and numerous friends and caregivers who made his world a better place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. He will be interred on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Milltown cemetery in the family plot beside his beloved Carol. Any memorial gifts should be directed to the Mark Palmberg Unity High School Scholarship.
