Judith Ann Markert, 89, was born on Aug. 8, 1933, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Russell and Helen (Karpen) Postlewaite. She passed into the next life on May 24, 2023, in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Dave; her sister, Joan; and brother, Jim.

She is survived by children, Therese, Amy (Scott), Tom (Sue), Sara, Andy and Matt; grandchildren, Morgan, Andy and Alex; great-grandchild, Athan; family members, Jack (Lois) Postlewaite, Janet Sands, Pat Postlewaite and brother, Jeff (Evalyn); and a large extended family.

Judy graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Paul in 1951 and worked for the IRS until marrying Dave in 1956. They started their family in Gary, Indiana, and eventually settled in Centuria, Wisconsin, where they were active community members for 50 years. Judy volunteered with Polk County Special Olympics, Unity Community Ed and at the local polling place during elections. Judy’s family and friends will miss her gregarious personality, infectious laugh, easy conversation and friendly smile.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served in the church hall after Mass. Interment of both Dave and Judy’s ashes at the parish cemetery will follow the luncheon.
