Janice Rosemary Menge, age 78, a resident of Webster, Wisconsin, passed away at home on Nov. 26, 2024.

Janice was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents, Walter and Dorothy (Zilmer) Tyrpa. She attended McKinley Grade School, Jordan Middle School, and Patrick Henry High School.

In March of 1968, Janice married John Menge in Minneapolis. Together they raised two children, Linnae and Christopher. They lived their life in many different places. From North Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, where Janice worked at the U of M campus library; Dugway, Utah, while John was in the Army; and Raleigh, North Carolina, where Janice worked for the IRS while John was attending school. They spent over 30 years in Riverside, California, with Janice working for a daycare and cafeteria.

Janice deeply appreciated nature and crafting. She loved quilting with the Thimbleberries Group, painting, crafting, bird watching and mushroom hunting. Most of all, Janice cherished her family, spending as much time with them as possible, especially her grandchildren.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy; and brother, Michael.

She is survived by her loving husband, John; her children, Linnae (Keith) Kezer and Christopher (Kelly) Menge; six grandchildren; brothers, Darold (Cindy) Tyrpa and David (Connie) Tyrpa; aunt, Carol Zilmer Hathaway; and uncle, Harold Zilmer.

A funeral service for Janice will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. (visitation at 10 a.m.) at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Webster, Wisconsin, with Scott Peterson officiating. Pallbearers are Chris Menge, Keith Kezer, Bryce Menge, Riley Menge, Aiden Wells and Dave Johnson. Interment will follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Webster.
