ASHLAND – The season ended at the WIAA Division 2 sectional for the Grantsburg co-op gymnastics team though some honors arrived.

Grantsburg (117.6) had its postseason concluded on Saturday with a seventh-place finish in the sectional at Ashland while River Falls (136.3) won the event by less than a full point ahead of Rice Lake (135.95).

Abby Rombach provided the team’s best finish by placing eighth on the bars with an 8.1; Bloomer’s Celina Hess, 8.9, won the event with Grantsburg’s Megan Harmon, 6.775, in 21st.

Rombach was also 10th on the vault with an 8.3, behind first-place finisher Avery Ash, 9.25, of Rice Lake. Harmon, 8.05, was 18th. Rombach was also 13th on the beam, 7.85; 15th on the floor exercise, 8.15; and 11th in all-around scoring, 32.4. Sammi Kramer added a 19th-place finish on the floor exercise, 7.9; a 23rd-place finish on the beam, 6.75; and a 21st-place finish in all-around scoring, 28.0Grants.

Rombach and Kramer also garnered all-state recognition with Rombach being a second-team pick for all-around in Division 2 and Kramer an honorable mention on the vault.

Rombach, Megan Harmon, Kenly Korhonen, Emma Larson and Molly Hart also earned academic all-state status.
