Gloria G. Kostka passed away on Dec. 17, 2024, at Dove Healthcare in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. She was born on June 25, 1929, to Grace & Frank Tiegs, and was raised on a farm north of Bruce, Wisconsin, along with younger brothers, Allen and Otto.

Gloria married Paul J. Kostka on May 28, 1949, and resided in Bruce, while starting a family. She worked at the Bruce Bank until the big move to Weyerhaeuser in 1956. She was then employed by the Security State Bank of Ladysmith as sole manager of the branch office in Weyerhaeuser, Wisconsin, until retirement.

Gloria was an active member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Weyerhaeuser Community Club. She also served as chairperson of the Booster Days parade for many years.

When the “big white house” was sold in 1994, Gloria moved to St. Croix Falls, where she made many new friends and continued her volunteer activities at the local hospital. She was always a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Gary (Dagmar) Kostka of St. Croix Falls and David (Janet) Kostka of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; daughter, Diane Kane of Amery, Wisconsin; son-in-law, Don Szozda of Weyerhaeuser; grandchildren, Zachary Kostka, Kelly Swartos, Kevin Szozda, Karissa Kostka, Kalina Kostka, Kyle Bundgaard, Tera Dacek, Erica Kufus and Rick Kane II; brother, Otto; dear sister-in-law, Phyllis Tiegs; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kostka, daughter, Virginia Szozda, son-in-law, Rick Kane and brother, Allen Tiegs.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyerhaeuser, with Fr. Papi Reddy Yeruva and Dcn. Tom Fuhrmann officiating. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice.
