Gary Joseph Blanksi, age 82, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025.
Gary was born to Walter and Inez (Berry) Blanski on October 22, 1942, in Minnesota. He joined the army at age 17 and later received his GED. At the age of 20, Gary started working at NSP as a machinist and continued working there until his retirement at age 55. In 1964, Gary was united in marriage to Marjorie Swanson, and together they raised seven children.
Throughout his life, Gary enjoyed playing baseball, softball, golfing with his son Mark and bowling. Later in life, he picked up hobbies such as biking and running. Gary ran many marathons—including the Boston Marathon and even a 100k race in Duluth.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Jensen; son, Howie; and brothers, Danny and Tommy. He is survived by his wife, Marge; children, Jim, Jody (Jeff) Vollrath, Wendy, Mark (Cecilia) and Rick; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike; daughter-in-law, Jill; and son-in-law, Paul Jensen.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at the East Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Amery, Wisconsin.
