Elizabeth C. Petersen, 74, of Frederic, Wisconsin, went peacefully on to her heavenly reward on April 30, 2025, from the Amery Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held at Siren Covenant Church on May 10, 2025, with visitation starting at 3 p.m.
Liz was born in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, on Dec. 28, 1950, to Clara Marie (Briggs) and Carl Hamilton. She graduated from Hayward High School in 1969. After being united in marriage to Dale Jorgensen in 1970, Liz gave birth to two children, Scott (1970) and Julie (1973.)
On Oct. 3, 1992, Liz married Larry Petersen of Frederic, and, together, they raised daughter Kayla and son Zacharv. Liz had a lifelong love affair with horses and tending her flower gardens. She adored her children and grandchildren and was always well-known for her gift of hospitality at hosting friends and family in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Petersen of Frederic; son, Scott (Christy) Jorgensen of Hayward, Wisconsin; daughter, Julie (Mark) Dahlberg of Solon Springs, Wisconsin; daughter, Kayla Petersen of Venice, Florida; son, Zachary (Nichole) Petersen of Shakopee, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Cody Jorgensen of Daniels, Wyoming, Courtney (fiance, Austin Mindock) Jorgensen of Phillips, Wisconsin, Luke Dahlberg, Beth Dahlberg and Anna Dahlberg all of Solon Springs, and Ashley (Keenan Jones) Moen of Sartel, Minnesota; four great-grandchildren, Lakelyn Mindock and Everleigh Mindock both of Phillips, and Koda Jones and Arlo Jones both of Sartel; sister, Vicki (Rodney) Smith of Hayward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to Siren Covenant Church, 7686 Lofty Pines Drive, Siren, Wisconsin, on May 10, 2025, at 3 p.m. for a visitation with the service at 4 p.m., followed by a meal.
