Doris A. Jones, 81, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, with her loving family at her side.
Doris was brought into this world by her biological mother, Louise Edquist. Louise named her “Mary Eileen.” Louise needed to put this beautiful baby up for adoption. That is when Helge and Mildred Lindberg became her parents. They named her Doris Ann Lindberg.
When Doris turned 40, she decided to find her birth mom, and she succeeded. Soon, we all learned about the wonderful family in the North. Seven sisters and one brother were added to our lives. Our lives were blessed with more family.
Doris attended and graduated from Frederic High School. She met the love of her life, and she and Emery were married on Nov. 12, 1960. Emery’s sister, Shirley, was her maid of honor. Emery and Doris were married for 64 years, and they have three children––Kim, Kevin and Craig.
Doris loved babies. She loved fishing with a cane pole. She loved Spirit Lake. She loved farm life and all the animals. She worked at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center for years and retired from there.
Emery and Doris enjoyed their winter home in McAllen, Texas. Many, many friends and lots of fun at Adobe Wells. Their Wisconsin home near Eureka was where Doris spent her final days. Following nine hospital stays, surgery, and cancer treatments, she peacefully went Home to be with the Lord and is now free of pain. Doris’s wish was to be at home during her last days. We succeeded.
The family would like to thank each and every one of the caretakers and all who visited. A special thank you to Nancy and Wayne Dickenson, Bonnie Jones-Witthuhn, Kathy Loomis and the St. Croix Hospice Team.
A visitation is planned for Monday, Aug. 25, 4-7 p.m., at the First Lutheran Church of Cushing, Wisconsin. A funeral service to follow on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
