Abbie Ronelle Eckles Larsen, longtime resident of Frederic, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center on April 2, 2025. Abbie was born on a small farm near Godahl, Minnesota, on April 28, 1930. She was the third of four daughters born to Rose and John Eckles. As a child, Abbie lived with her family at several Minnesota Civilian Conservation Corps camps, where her parents served as cooks. In the late 1930s, her family relocated to St. James, Minnesota.
