Carol Cran Bjornstad, age 64, of Osceola, Wisconsin, passed away on May 3, 2025, at home with her husband by her side. She fought a 10-month battle with cancer.
She was born on Feb. 23, 1961, in Amery, Wisconsin, to Ralph and Myrtle Cran. Carol grew up on the family farm in Fox Creek. She was baptized and confirmed at the Georgetown Lutheran Church and graduated from Unity High School in 1979. She worked at Royal Oaks in Osceola as a CNA. In 1986, Carol started her 20-year career at Andersen Windows.
July 24, 1982, she married Vern Bjornstad at Georgetown Lutheran Church. Their favorite places to visit included Duluth and Two Harbors, Minnesota. Carol was Vern’s favorite fishing partner. They enjoyed many fishing trips to Mille Lacs Lake and also closer to home on Balsam Lake.
She was also a good cook and baker. At holidays there were many treats for everyone to enjoy.
Due to health issues, Carol was also on dialysis for one and a half years at DaVita in Amery. Vern was her faithful driver to these appointments three times a week.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Amy; parents, Ralph and Myrtle Cran; parents-in-law, Kenneth and Doris Bjornstad; brothers, Bover Cran and Pete Cran; brother-in-law, Herman; sisters, Gerti Belisle and Annie Linder; and sister-in-law, Lois Cran.
She is survived by her husband, Vern; siblings, Charles (Janet) Cran, Margaret (Sige) Polensky, David Cran, Mary Cran, Jerry (Lauri) Cran, Ruth Cran and Brian Cran; Rachel Bjornstad; John Bjornstad; daughter, Liz (Joe) Drutschmann; grandchildren, Joseph and Andy Drutschmann; godchild, Calli Bjornstad; and many nieces and nephews.
Per Carol’s wishes, there will be a private family service.
