Lloyd Lester Larson, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, Minnesota. He was born Feb. 13, 1941 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, to Lester and Myrtle (Ramsdell) Larson. The family moved to Superior, Wisconsin, where Lloyd graduated from Central High School, class of 1959. He went on to earn a machinist certification from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute. He practiced his craft at Grayco in Minneapolis, Minnesota, then went to FMC in Fridley, Minnesota, as a manufacturing engineer. Joyce “Snookie” LaVonne Schrock, age 90, of Dresser, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025 at Eagle Ridge Senior Living in Osceola, Wisconsin. Joyce was born on Oct. 9, 1935 to Guy and Iona (Leaf) Longnecker in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. On April 8, 1955 she was united in marriage to Roger Schrock. This marriage was blessed with four children, Brenda, Becky, Brian and Lori. In her free time, Snookie enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and trips to the casino. Thomas Michael Magnafici, of Dresser, Wisconsin, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025. Born on Sept. 25, 1945, in Dixon, Illinois, Tom was one of ten children in a large Italian-Irish family. From the age of eight to 14, he lived at St. Vincent’s Orphanage, an experience that shaped his strength, independence, and resilience. Tom once dreamed of becoming a college history professor, but life—and the Vietnam War—led him down a different path.
