Lester Charles Harder, age 79, of Luck, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home with his daughter, Kris, by his side. On Sept. 19, 2025, he went to be with Jesus, his Lord.
Les was born on July 11, 1946, in Amery, Wisconsin, to Harold and Louise Harder. He graduated from Unity in 1964. In 1965, he married Sharry Fosha. They had four daughters: Amber, Kris, Nichole and Leslie. Les worked for Stokers and learned the sheet metal trade. In 1973, they moved from Balsam Lake, Wisconsin to Georgetown, Wisconsin, and bought his parents’ farm. 1978 came with a big change as he started his own business and they began home schooling their girls.
After several years of doing heating and air conditioning, he started doing landscaping in the summer, which he really liked. Besides installing and repairing furnaces, he helped neighbors repair the corn dryer, milking machines, a well, and more.
He was an exceptionally good deer hunter, and going to Iowa bird hunting with his favorite dog, Josh, a Brittany, was his favorite time of the year. Most of the hunting was with his family, and that’s what he enjoyed most. He taught all of his girls to hunt, and also to work, because there were always family projects to do.
He was so proud of his girls and his favorite times were being surrounded by his family getting the yard ready for one of the weddings, planning where to make the next deer drive, or having a meal together.
In the early 2000s he married Sue Ackerman. Then, another chapter in his life began.
Les was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Charlene (Dennis) Guesford; brother, Byron Harder; and sister-in-law, Judy Harder.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; daughters, Amber (Randy) Gordon, Kris Harder, Nichole (Jeff) Reed and Leslie (Greg) Davison; grandchildren, Colton and Morgan Gordon, Sophie and Maddi Reed, Shallena, Jarett, Ethan and Gracie Davison; great-grandchildren, Booker, Rose, Jace and Finn Gordon; his brother, Gerald (Sandy) Harder; more family; and friends.
He will be missed and never forgotten.
He asked for no funeral, so his family is honoring his wishes.
