Wayne Allan Minnick, age 72, of Frederic, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at Westfield Hospital, New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Wayne was born on Sept. 18, 1952 in Amery, Wisconsin to Elroy and Mary Lou (Calhoun) Minnick.
Everyone knew Wayne for his love of hunting, fishing, golf, riding his Harley and his truck driving skills. Also, for all his customers at the St. Croix Tavern. He will be missed dearly by many.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy Minnick and Mary Lou Calhoun-Minnick- Lund; wife, Kathleen; brother, Dale; step-grandchildren, Scot Auburt and Jamie Auburt; and mother-in-law, Lillian Meyer.
Wayne is survived by his siblings, Glenn (Vicki), Judy (Mike) Qualle, Sheryl (Doug) Swagger and Valerie (Sam) Hansen; stepchildren, Jim (Darlene) Cross, Sandra Cross, Kathy Cross and Troy Cross; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will continue at the St. Croix Tavern. Private interment will be held at a later date.
