Lois LaRayne Voss was born to Mildred and Roy Mattson on Jan. 5, 1927. She graduated from Milltown High School in 1944. Lois married Russ Voss on Sept. 14, 1946, and to this union three children were born: Cheryl, Erling, and Ronn.
She was a tremendous cook and baker and loved having huge gatherings of relatives and friends. Another favorite part of her life were her flower gardens, especially red roses. Being a true homemaker, her house was always immaculate.
Baked goods were always on the counter and baking pies and bread plus canning and putting up preserves, with raspberry/blueberry being her favorite.
Her well known baked beans were absolutely the best.
In her 80s, she took a position at the Milltown Public Library. She loved her work and all her co-workers.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Russ; and her sister, Dee Holmgren.
Lois leaves behind her three children, Cheryl Peper, Erling Voss and Ronn Voss; also four grandchildren, Joell (Ken) Collins, Jay Unbehaun, Bill (Ashley) Voss and Jeff (Heather) Peper; and eight great-grandchildren, Noah, Jenna, Grant, Alex, Brynna, Emma, Zach and Hannah.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 21, at 2 p.m., at Joy Lutheran Church (501 WI-35, Centuria, Wisconsin, 54824) with visitation beginning at 1 p.m.
