LEWIS – On Sunday, Feb. 23, 16 teams were in attendance for a mixed-doubles pool tournament at The Lewis Bar and VFW. The teams played eight-ball and used the “last pocket” rule that is popular with the leagues and tournaments in this area, meaning you are required to pocket the eight ball in the same pocket that you made your last object ball. A double-elimination bracket was used, which allowed everyone a second chance to compete, even if they lost their first match. Goulash, cold salads and other snacks were available for players and a few spectators who were also in attendance.

The tournament was won by the duo of Kat Sandberg and Steve Johnson, both of Frederic; second place went to Richard and Rhonda Schultz; and third place was taken by Lisa Lundberg and Tom Wadel.
