Lily P. Orvold, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, surrounded by family in Chetek, Wisconsin.
Lily was born in Carigara, Leyte, Philippines on June 7, 1932, to Dioncie and Benita de (Guzman) Pascual. She attended school in the Philippines and went to nursing school for one year. She met her future husband, Richard, while working in the Navy Exchange at Sangley Point. He was stationed there serving in the Navy.
The two were married on July 3, 1957 while living in the Philippines and welcomed a son. They later moved to Seattle, Washington, in Nov. 1958, and welcomed their two daughters. They later moved to Long Beach, California, Brook Park, Minnesota and then to St. Paul, Minnesota, finally settling in Luck, Wisconsin, where they raised their family.
Lily worked at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Luck, and later as a seamstress for Alcan MFG in Milltown, Wisconsin, from 1968 to 1986. Following Richard’s passing, Lily moved to Fremont, California, to work for Prudential Overall Supply, retiring in 1993. She then moved to Cameron, Wisconsin.
Lily loved to crochet and was an avid reader. She enjoyed fishing and traveling. One of her proudest accomplishments was when she became a U.S. citizen in May of 1970. Lily loved spending time with her family and friends and will be sadly missed.
Lily is survived by her children, Carol Meisner (the late Greg) and Lillian (Tracy) Johnston; a daughter-in-law, Cecelia Orvold; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Richard E. Orvold, Jr.; and her siblings.
No services are being planned at this time.
