It’s that time of year when does are with their fawns and will be attempting to cross roads.
Please, motorists – when you stop to let a deer cross the road, wait another minute or so, as often the fawns lag behind their mom. Doing that allows them to safely cross and catch up with mom.
Actually, it’s a good idea and an act of kindness to always practice this. When you see a deer crossing the road, pause briefly in case more are coming before you speed up and continue on your way. Let’s have fewer dead deer on the roadsides.
