Quilts donated for Salvation Army shelter

Twenty-five quilts made by members of the Apple River Quilt Guild were donated to the Salvation Army this week. The quilts will be put to use when a new shelter opens this fall for Polk and Barron County residents. Guild members meet weekly at the community center in Amery to sew and coordinate donations from members of the guild and community. Samples of comfort quilts will be on display at the annual Amery Fall Festival Quilt Show, Sept. 16-17.
